City at Peace – Cape Town
City at Peace – Cape Town is currently in its third full progamme year which will run through 2008.
A group of 50 youths, aged 13-20 years, are involved in the project, and have been recruited from throughout Cape Town's suburbs and townships. By exploring issues such as race, culture, family and peer relationships, violence, sexual orientation and substance abuse in a collaborative process, participants are creating dramatic representations of their own lives and working together to create their vision of a better future for themselves in the Rainbow Nation.
By conducting community action projects, these young people are working to realise their emerging vision of diverse, peaceful and productive communities in Cape Town.
