Project Coordinator – Solomon Kamwendo
Solomon is currently studying in Cape Town, and was the Managing Director of Ghetto Artists in Francistown, Botswana from 1999 until 2003. As one of the founding members of Ghetto Artists, a youth theatre and education group, he was intensively involved in establishing the organisation as a model for "edu-tainment" in both the local community and the national non-profit scene. He has extensive experience in networking with Southern African theatre and youth groups, international fundraising and project management.
Artistic Director – Vincenza Kamwendo
Vincenza is an alumna of City at Peace – Washington DC and the former assistant Artistic Director of City at Peace – Los Angeles. She has served in multiple capacities within the organisation of City at Peace, in the cast, production team, advisory board, and artistic team. In addition, she has worked in several community organisations in Washington DC, Los Angeles and Botswana with a focus on the youth, the Arts and advocacy. She graduated from Pitzer College in 2003 with a BA in Urban Studies.
Youth Production Team
The 2008 project is also led with a leadership team of five youth who participated in the 2007 project. They guide adult staff in all decisions of the process, create the outline for the production and assist in facilitating rehearsal activities.
